Hey guys,
I'm a student who works in Video Engineering Services here on my campus. What is the proper way to setup a frame sync. I know you need a scope, but is there any good liturature online showing the "correct" way of setting it up?
Thanks!

What sort of frame sync? [model] Where are you trying to attach it [setup wise]?

Hotronics AR71

So you want to have one playback deck go through it and into another to record? Not part of a much larger system?

If so, simply connect the following, using one half of the TBC:
VTR-P [video out] >> TBC [video in]
TBC [video out] >> VTR-R [video in]
Blackburst [or some stable source like a camera] >> TBC [genlock] >> terminator [use a BNC-T to connect the terminator]

VTR-P [audio out] >> VTR-R [audio in]

If you are setting it up independent of any other system, I would attach the waveform monitor in-line after the TBC [with the loop out going to the recorder]; if you want to have sync hooked to the WFM, run the genlock out of the T- on the TBC into the WFM with the same length cable as the video from the TBC to the WFM, then attach the [75ohm] terminator on the genlock/sync loopout of the WFM
